The Life of a Twenty-Something...growing up.
This blog will take you through my post-collegiate life, as I embark upon a new career, and face different and often difficult challenges of becoming a young, independent, Pakistani woman in the United States.
It will chronicle my (hopefully short time) moving back home, how I am going to adjust to it after living away for four years....
this should be interesting.
The Job Market
So I kind of wonder why it is that, when we’re in high school and college, we get to do almost everything we want. We get to plan amazing large scale events, photograph public events, concerts and sporting events, be editor of a publication, design aesthetically pleasing layots, write amazing political stories for newspapers, write thoughtful pieces for magazines, and become politically involved…yet…how often do these activities ever transcend into careers?
These careers are so beyond competitive, or even scarce during a down economy.
I am positive that if I had my own column I’d draw a large readership. Though my life has dulled down a bit (largely due to being stripped of rights since I’ve moved home), I am a witty, insightful writer and the “notes” I publish on facebook are really well recieved. I think I’d bring in good readership.
Now, only if I had the guts to go public with this blog.
I can maybe chronicle how difficult it is adjusting to “real-life” after college.
